We are pleased to announce the release of NHS at Work 7.3, on Thursday 18th March 2026, which delivers improvements to Non-Residential On-Call shift configuration and targeted performance enhancements across leave management and reporting. This release includes:
- Support for Overnight NR Details in Non-Residential On-Call Shifts
- Performance Improvements to Leave Requests and Reporting
- Coming Soon
Support for Overnight NR Details in Non-Residential On-Call Shifts
Release 7.3 introduces an improvement to the configuration of Non-Residential On-Call (NROC) shifts, allowing rota administrators to correctly define NR periods that occur entirely on the second calendar day of an overnight shift.
Previously, some valid overnight NR configurations could not be saved if the NR period fell fully within the second day of the shift. This update ensures these scenarios are now fully supported.
Key functionality:
- Save NR Details When NR Period Falls on Day 2 of an Overnight Shift
Rota administrators can now successfully save NR Start and NR End times when:
- The shift spans multiple calendar days (overnight shift), and
- The NR period occurs entirely within the second day of the shift, and
- The NR Start and End times still fall within the overall shift duration.
This allows administrators to configure overnight on-call duties accurately without encountering validation issues.
Performance Improvements to Leave Requests and Reporting
Release 7.3 includes targeted performance improvements to improve system responsiveness when managing leave requests and generating rostering reports.
These updates focus on reducing loading times in areas where users frequently interact with large volumes of data.
Key improvements:
1. Faster Loading of Leave Request Statuses
Performance improvements have been implemented in the Manage Leave area to reduce loading times when filtering leave requests by status.
Users can now navigate between different request statuses more quickly, improving responsiveness when reviewing and managing leave requests.
2. Improved Performance for Slot and Staff Reports
Optimisations have been applied to the Slot Reports and Staff Reports within Rostering Reports to improve report generation speed.
These improvements reduce the time required to retrieve report results when running reports across defined date ranges.
Coming soon…
- ESR Absence Reporting Integration
We're excited to share that ESR integration is coming soon to NHS at Work!
This new feature will allow Rota and Rostering Managers to report absence data directly to ESR with a single click — removing the need for double entry and improving accuracy and timeliness of workforce records.
- Enhanced Reporting
We’re introducing Advanced Tableau Reporting, giving Trusts powerful new tools to analyse and visualise key workforce trends directly from NHS at Work data.
Whether you're managing compliance, planning capacity, or investigating workforce pressures, this upcoming feature will provide interactive dashboards designed to support deeper insights and better decision-making.
- Improvements to Rota Pay Calculations
Several updates are currently in development to improve how the system calculates and validates pay-related elements within rota patterns. These improvements will ensure that rota pay calculations remain aligned with contractual rules and provide clearer, more reliable outputs for rota administrators and finance teams.
