Purpose
The Coverage View in NHS At Work is where roster coverage can be reviewed based on minimum staffing numbers. This guide provides a visual overview of the Coverage Screen, highlighting where you can find key information and complete actions. It’s designed to give you a starting point and support efficient use of the system. For more detail on specific features, please refer to the additional guidance documents available. These cover wider functionality in depth and are intended to complement this guide.
The Coverage View
- View Duration – Change to a Daily, Weekly, 4-Weekly or 6-Weekly View of your coverage.
- Date Picker – Use the navigation arrows or click on the date range to open a calendar view and navigate to different time periods within the roster.
- The Back button – Returns users to the main roster view.
- The Roster Filters – Click on the filter Icon to open filter options that allow you to tailor the coverage view.
- Filters – Filters are available for Shift type, Ward, Shift category, Medic name, Grade, Engagement type, Specialty and Site.
- Time Breakdown – Switch to view coverage in 30 or 60-minute increments.
- Ideal Coverage Toggle – Change your ideal coverage level using the ‘plus’ and ‘minus’ icons or by typing in the centre box. This updates the RAG display based on your set ideal coverage value, as explained in item 9 below.
- 24-Hour Time View – The time is displayed along the top of the table from 00:00 – 24:00.
- Coverage Indicator –
Green - Equal to or above the ideal coverage level.
Amber - Minimum of 1 staff member rostered but below the ideal coverage level.
Red - No staff rostered.
Click on the number shown in any box to show the names of the medics rostered:
- Date Range – The dates in range based on your current filters are displayed to the left of the table.
