Purpose
Icons are designed to help users quickly recognise where actions can be taken, where actions have already occurred, or to show the status of specific tasks. They provide a consistent, visual way to navigate and understand the system without relying on text alone. This guide introduces users to the icons they may encounter in NHS At Work.
NHS At Work Icons
There are two main types of icons in NHS At Work:
- System Icons – These appear throughout the system and support common actions such as adding new data, editing, or navigating between pages. They function consistently across different screens.
- Roster Icons – These are specific to the Roster Screen. They allow roster managers and medics to identify shift updates, such as swaps, notes, or approvals, and to check the status of these actions at a glance.
The tables below provide a brief explanation of what each icon represents.
